Chesed (Loving-Kindness): Kindness in the Bible
Chesed, loving-kindness, is the thread that runs through the whole Tanach. In seven days you will meet the people who lived it: Avraham running to welcome three strangers, Rivka drawing water for a traveler's camels, Ruth refusing to abandon Naomi, Boaz sheltering her in his harvest field, and David keeping an old promise to a fallen friend's son. It opens with the Thirteen Attributes, where kindness is named as God's own way, and closes with the Psalm that answers every line: His kindness endures forever.
