Chapter 1

א אלה דברי חלוקת הימים על פי התורה והעדות לתולדות השנים לשבועיהן וליובליהן כל ימי השמים על הארץ כאשר דבר אל משה בהר סיני:
1 THIS is the history of the division of the days of the law and of the testimony, of the events of the years, of their (year) weeks, of their jubilees throughout all the years of the world, as the Lord spake to Moses on Mount Sinai when he went up to receive the tables of the law and of the commandment, according to the voice of God as He said unto him, "Go up to the top of the Mount.")
ב ויהי בשנה הראשונה לצאת בני ישראל מארץ מצרים, בחודש השלישי בשישה עשר בו וידבר ה׳ אל משה לאמור:
2 And it came to pass in the first year of the A.M. (A.M. = Anno Mundi) exodus of the children of Israel out of Egypt, in the third month, on the sixteenth day of the month, that God spake to Moses, saying:
ג עלה אלי פה ההרה ואתנה לך את שתי לוחות האבן, והתורה והמצווה אשר כתבתי להורותם:
3 "Come up to Me on the Mount, and I will give thee two tables of stone of the law and of the commandment, which I have written, that thou mayst teach them."
ד ויעל משה אל הר האלוהים וישכון כבוד ה׳ על הר סיני ויכסהו ענן ששת ימים, ויקרא אל משה ביום השביעי מתוך הענן:
4 And Moses went up into the mount of God, and the glory of the Lord abode on Mount Sinai, and a cloud overshadowed it six days.<br>And He called to Moses on the seventh day out of the midst of the cloud,
ה וירא את כבוד ה׳ כאש אוכלת על הר סיני בעלותו לקחת את לוחות האבן והתורה והמצוה, על פי ה׳ אשר אמר אליו עלה אל ראש ההר:
5 and the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a flaming fire on the top of the Mount.
ו ויהי משה בהר ארבעים יום וארבעים לילה, ויורהו ה׳ את אשר היה ואת אשר יהיה:
6 And Moses was on the Mount forty days and forty nights, and God taught him the earlier and the later history
ז וילמדהו את חלוקת הימים, על פי התורה והעדות לאמור:
7 of the division of all the days of the law and of the testimony.
ח הסכת את כל הדבר אשר אנכי דובר אליך וכתבהו על ספר, למען ידעו דורותיהם כי עזבתי אותם על כל הרעה אשר עשו כי סרו מן הברית אשר אנוכי כורת היום ביני וביניך בהר סיני לדורותיהם:
8 And He said: "Incline thine heart to every word which I shall speak to thee on this Mount, and write them in a book in order that their generations may see how I have not forsaken them for all the evil which they have wrought in transgressing the covenant which I establish between Me and thee for their generations this day on Mount Sinai.
ט והיה כי תמצאן אותם רעות רבות וצרות וענה הדבר הזה לפניהם לעד, וידעו כי צדקתי מהם בכל משפטם ובכל מעשיהם וידעו כי הייתי עמהם:
9 And thus it will come to pass when all these things come upon them, that they will recognize that I am more righteous than they in all their judgments and in all their actions, and they will recognize that I have been truly with them.
י ואתה כתוב לך את כל הדברים אשר אנכי דובר היום באזנך, כי ידעתי את מריים ואת עורפם הקשה בטרם אביאם אל הארץ אשר נשבעתי לאברהם ליצחק וליעקב לאמור לזרעכם אתן את הארץ זבת חלב ודבש:
10 And do thou write for thyself all these words which I declare unto thee this day, for I know their rebellion and their stiff neck, before I bring them into the land of which I sware to their fathers, to Abraham and to Isaac and to Jacob, saying: "Unto your seed will I give a land flowing with milk and honey
יא ואכלו ושבעו ופנו אל אלהים אחרים אשר לא הצילו אותם מכל צרתם:
11 And they will eat and be satisfied, and they will turn to strange gods, to (gods) which cannot deliver them from aught of their tribulation:
יב ונשמעה העדות הזאת והיתה להם לעדה, כי ישכחו את כל מצוותי אשר אנכי מצוה אותם:
12 "and this witness shall be heard for a witness against them.<br>For they will forget all My commandments, (even) all that I command them, and they will walk after the Gentiles,
יג וזנו אחרי שיקוצי הגוים וגילוליהם ועבדו לאלוהיהם והיו להם למכשול צרה וצוקה לפח ולמוקש:
13 and after their uncleanness, and after their shame, and will serve their gods, and these will prove unto them an offence and a tribulation and an affliction and a snare.
יד ורבים יאבדו וילכו שבי לפני צר וייפלו ביד אויביהם, עקב אשר שכחו חוקותי ומצוותי ומועדי ובריתי הפרו:
14 And many will perish and they will be taken captive, and will fall into the hands of the enemy, because they have forsaken My ordinances and My commandments, and the festivals of My covenant,
טו ואת שבתותי וקדשִי אשר הקדשתי בתוכם, ואוהלי ומקדשי אשר הקדשתי בארץ לשכן שמי שם:
15 and My sabbaths, and My holy place which I have hallowed for Myself in their midst, and My tabernacle, and My sanctuary, which I have hallowed for Myself in the midst of the land, that I should set My name upon it, and that it should dwell (there).
טז ועשו להם מצבות אבן ופסילי עץ והשתחוו להם לחטוא בנפשותם, וזבחו בניהם לשעירים ולכל מעשי תעתועי לבבם:
16 And they will make to themselves high places and groves and graven images, and they will worship, each his own (graven image), so as to go astray, and they will sacrifice their children to demons, and to all the works of the error of their hearts.
יז ושלחתי להם עדים להעיד בם והמה לא ישמעו וימיתו את עדי:
17 And I will send witnesses unto them, that I may witness against them, but they will not hear, and will slay the witnesses also,
יח וגם בשומרי תורה יתגרו והמיתום, ועל תורתי יפשעו ויעשו הרע בעיני:
18 and they will persecute those who seek the law, and they will abrogate and change everything so as to work evil before My eyes.
יט ואנוכי הסתר אסתיר את פני מהם ונתתים ביד הגוים ורדו בהם והיו להם למוקש ואכלום, וגרשתים מן הארץ והפיצותים בגוים:
19 And I shall hide My face from them, and I shall deliver them into the hand of the Gentiles for captivity, and for a prey, and for devouring, and I shall remove them from the midst of the land, and I shall scatter them amongst the Gentiles.
כ והמה ישכחו את כל תורתִי ואת כל מצוותַי ואת כל משפטַי ולא ישמרו חודש ושבת מועד ויובל ויזנחו כל משמרת:
20 And they will forget all My law and all My commandments and all My judgments, and will go astray as to new moons, and sabbaths, and festivals, and jubilees, and ordinances.
כא ואחרי כן ישובו ופנו אלי מקרב הגוים בכל לבבם ובכל נפשם ובכל מאודם:
21 And after this they will turn to Me from amongst the Gentiles with all their heart and with all their soul and with all their strength,
כב וקבצתי את נדחיהם מתוך הגוים, והמה ישובו ובקשו פני ונמצאתי להם:
22 and I shall gather them from amongst all the Gentiles, and they will seek Me, so that I shall be found of them,
כג והיה כי ישחרוני בכל לבבם ובכל נפשם אטה להם שלום רב בצדקה, ונטעתים לצמח מישרים‏ בכל לבי ובכל נפשי:
23 when they seek Me with all their heart and with all their soul.<br>And I shall disclose to them abounding peace with righteousness, and I shall remove them the plant of uprightness, with all My heart and with all My soul,
כד והיו לברכה ולא לקללה, והיו לראש ולא לזנב:
24 and they will be for a blessing and not for a curse, and they will be the head and not the tail.
כה ובניתי מקדשי בקרבם ושכנתי בתוכם, והייתי להם לאלהים והמה יהיו לי לעם באמת ובצדקה:
25 And I shall build My sanctuary in their midst, and I shall dwell with them, and I shall be their God and they will be My people in truth and righteousness.
כו ואני לא אמאסם ולא אגעלם, כי אני ה׳ אלהיהם:
26 And I shall not forsake them nor fail them; for I am the Lord their God."
כז ויפול משה על פניו ויתפלל לאמור:
27 And Moses fell on his face and prayed and said,
כח ה׳ אלוהי אל נא תעזוב עמך ונחלתך כי ילכו בשרירות לבם, ואל תתנם ביד אויביהם למשול בם גוים ולא ירדו בהם פן יזנחוך:
28 "O Lord my God, do not forsake Thy people and Thy inheritance, so that they should wander in the error of their hearts, and do not deliver them into the hands of their enemies, the Gentiles, lest they should rule over them and cause them to sin against Thee.
כט ועתה יגדל נא חסדך ה׳ על עמך, וברא להם רוח נכון:
29 Let Thy mercy, O Lord, be lifted up upon Thy people, and create in them an upright spirit,
ל ואל ימשול בהם רוח בליעל להיות להם לשטן לפניך להטותם מכל דרכי הצדקה למען יאבדו על פניך:
30 and let not the spirit of Beliar rule over them to accuse them before Thee, and to ensnare them from all the paths of righteousness, so that they may perish from before Thy face.
לא והם עמך ונחלתך, אשר פדית בכוח גדול מיד המצרים:
31 But they are Thy people and Thy inheritance, which Thou hast delivered with Thy great power from the hands of the Egyptians:
לב ברא להם לב טהור ורוח קדוש, ואל יכשלו בעוונם מעתה ועד עולם:
32 create in them a clean heart and a holy Spirit, and let them not be ensnared in their sins from henceforth until eternity."
לג ויאמר ה׳ אל משה ידעתי את מרי שיחם ואת מזימתם ואת קשי עורפם, לא ישמעו בקולי עד אשר יאשמו בחטאותיהם ובחטאות אבותיהם:
33 And the Lord said unto Moses: "I know their contrariness and their thoughts and their stiffneckedness, and they will not be obedient till they confess their own sin and the sin of their fathers.
לד ואחרי כן ישובו אלי באמת בכל לבבם ובכל נפשם ומלתי את עורלת לבבם ואת עורלת לבב זרעם ובראתי להם רוח קדוש וטהרתים למען לא יסורו עוד ממני מיום ההוא עד עולם:
34 And after this they will turn to Me in all uprightness and with all (their) heart and with all (their) soul, and I shall circumcise the foreskin of their heart and the foreskin of the heart of their seed, and I shall create in them a holy spirit, and I shall cleanse them so that they shall not turn away from Me from that day unto eternity.
לה ונפשם תדבק בי ובכל מצוותי ועשו את מצוותי, והייתי להם לאב והם יהיו לי לבן וקראו להם בני אלוהים ולכולם זרע הרוח:
35 And their souls will cleave to Me and to all My commandments, and they will fulfil My commandments, and I shall be their Father and they will be My children.
לו ונודע כי בני הם, ואנוכי אביהם במשפט כי כן אהבתים:
36 And they will all be called children of the living God, and every angel and every spirit will know, yea, they will know that these are My children, and that I am their Father in uprightness and righteousness, and that I love them.
לז ואתה כתוב לך את כל הדבר הזה אשר אודיעך בהר הזה, הראשון והאחרון והבאות לכל חלוקת העת על פי התורה והעדות ולשבועי היובלים עד עולם עד אשר ארד ושכנתי בתוכם מן העולם ועד העולם:
37 And do thou write down for thyself all these words which I declare unto thee on this mountain, the first and the last, which shall come to pass in all the divisions of the days in the law and in the testimony and in the weeks and the jubilees unto eternity, until I descend and dwell with them throughout eternity."
לח ויאמר אל מלאך פניו לאמור, כתוב בספר למשה מיום עשות שמים וארץ עד היום אשר יבנה מקדשי בתוכם לעולם ועד:
38 And He said to the angel of the presence: "Write for Moses from the beginning of creation till My sanctuary has been built among them for all eternity.
לט ונגלה ה׳ לעין כל בשר וידעו הכל כי אני אלהי ישראל ואבי כל בני יעקב ומלך על הר ציון מן העולם ועד העולם וציון ירושלים קודש תהיה:
39 And the Lord will appear to the eyes of all, and all will know that I am the God of Israel and the Father of all the children of Jacob, and King on Mount Zion for all eternity. And Zion and Jerusalem will be holy."
מ ויקח מלאך הפנים ההולך לפני מחנה בני ישראל את לוחות חלוקת השנים מהחל היצירה:
40 And the angel of the presence who went before the camp of Israel took the tables of the divisions of the years --from the time of the creation--
מא לוחות השבועים והיובלים על פי התורה והעדות שנה בשנה כמספרה והיובלים לפי השנים מיום הבריאה החדשה בעשות שמים וארץ וכל יקומם וצבא השמים וכל בריאת הארץ:
41 of the law and of the testimony of the weeks, of the jubilees, according to the individual years, according to all the number of the jubilees [according to the individual years], from the day of the [new] creation when the heavens and the earth shall be renewed and all their creation according to the powers of the heaven, and according to all the creation of the earth,
מב עד ברוא מקדש ה׳ בירושלים במכון הר ציון וכל מאורי אור יתחדשו לקדושה לשלום ולברכה לכל בחירי ישראל להיות כן מיום ההוא כל ימי השמים על הארץ:
42 until the sanctuary of the Lord shall be made in Jerusalem on Mount Zion, and all the luminaries be renewed for healing and for peace and for blessing for all the elect of Israel, and that thus it may be from that day and unto all the days of the earth.
