Chapter 49

א זכור את המצוה אשר נתן ה' לך על דבר הפסח, לשמור אותו במועדו בארבעה עשר לחודש הראשון:
1 Remember the commandment which the Lord commanded thee concerning the passover, that thou shouldst celebrate it in its season on the fourteenth of the first month,
ב כי תשחט אותו בין הערבים, ויאכלו אותו בלילה באמש החמשה עשר מעת בוא השמש:
2 that thou shouldst kill it before it is evening, and that they should eat it by night on the evening of the fifteenth from the time of the setting of the sun.
ג כי היום הזה הוא החג הראשון, ויום ראשון לחג הפסח:
3 For on this night--the beginning of the festival and the beginning of the joy
ד וַתאכלו את הפסח במצרים כאשר שולחו כל אילי משטמה להכות כל בכור מצרים, מבכור פרעה עד בכור שפחת השבי אחר הריחים ועד הבהמה:
4 --ye were eating the passover in Egypt, when all the powers of Mastêmâ had been let loose to slay all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh to the first-born of the captive maidservant in the mill, and to the cattle.
ה וזה האות אשר נתן להם ה', אל כל בית אשר זורק דם השה על משקופו אל בית כזה לא יבואו להכות את הסגורים בו והיה כל אשר בבית נמלטו בהיות אות הדם על הדלת:
5 And this is the sign which the Lord gave them: Into every house on the lintels of which they saw the blood of a lamb of the first year, into (that) house they should not enter to slay, but should pass by (it), that all those should be saved that were in the house because the sign of the blood was on its lintels.
ו ומלאכי האלהים עשו את כל אשר צוה אותם, ופסחו על כל בני ישראל:
6 And the powers of the Lord did everything according as the Lord commanded them, and they passed by all the children of Israel,
ז ולא היה בהם נגף להשחית מהם נפש כל חי, אם בהמה או איש או אך כלב אחד:
7 and the plague came not upon them to destroy from amongst them any soul either of cattle, or man, or dog.
ח ובמצרים היתה המגפה גדולה מאוד, ואין בית אשר אין שם מת ובכיה וצעקה:
8 And the plague was very grievous in Egypt, and there was no house in Egypt where there was not one dead, and weeping and lamentation.
ט וכל ישראל אכלו במנוחה את בשר הפסח וישתו יין ויהללו ויודו ויברכו לה' אלהי אבותיהם ויהיו נכונים לצאת מתחת עול הסבלות וממצרים הרעה:
9 And all Israel was eating the flesh of the paschal lamb, and drinking the wine, and was lauding and blessing, and giving thanks to the Lord God of their fathers, and was ready to go forth from under the yoke of Egypt; and from the evil bondage.
י ואתה זכור את היום הזה כל ימי חייך אחת בשנה ביומו ככל חוקתו, ואל תחליף את היום באחר ואל תמיר את החודש באחר:
10 And remember thou this day all the days of thy life, and observe it from year to year all the days of thy life, once a year, on its day, according to all the law thereof, and do not adjourn (it) from day to day, or from month to month.
יא כי חוקת עולם היא וחרותה היא על לוחות השמים לבני ישראל לשמור בכל שנה ושנה את מועדה אחת לכל דורותיהם, ואין גבול לזמן כי אם לעולמים נועד:
11 For it is an eternal ordinance, and engraven on the heavenly tables regarding all the children of Israel that they should observe it every year on its day once a year, throughout all their generations; and there is no limit of days, for this is ordained for ever.
יב והאיש אשר הוא טהור ולא בא לעשות אותו במועדו, להקריב קרבן לרצון לפני ה' ביום מועדו ולאכול ולשתות לפני ה' ביום מועדו:
12 And the man who is free from uncleanness, and doth not come to observe it on occasion of its day, so as to bring an acceptable offering before the Lord, and to eat and to drink before the Lord on the day of its festival,
יג ונכרת האיש ההוא אם הוא טהור וקרוב, כי קרבן ה' לא הקריב במועדו וחטאו ישא האיש ההוא:
13 that man who is clean and close at hand will be cut off; because he offered not the oblation of the Lord in its appointed season, he will take the guilt upon himself.
יד בני ישראל לדורותיהם ישמרו את הפסח במועדו בארבעה עשר לחודש הראשון בין הערבים, בחלק השלישי ביום עד החלק השלישי בלילה:
14 Let the children of Israel come and observe the passover on the day of its fixed time, on the fourteenth day of the first month, between the evenings, from the third part of the day to the third part of the night,
טו כי שני חלקי היום נתונים לאור, והחלק השלישי לערב:
15 for two portions of the day are given to the light, and a third part to the evening.
טז זה הדבר אשר צוה ה', כי תעשה אותו בין הערבים:
16 That is that which the Lord commanded thee that thou shouldst observe it between the evenings.
יז ולא יעשה בבוקר בכל עת האור, כי אם לפנות ערב:
17 And it is not permissible to slay it during any period of the light, but during the period bordering on the evening,
יח ואכלו אותו בעת הערב עד החלק השלישי בלילה, והנותר מכל בשרו אחר החלק השלישי בלילה באש ישרפו גם שרוף אותו:
18 and let them eat it at the time of the evening until the third part of the night, and whatever is leftover of all its flesh from the third part of the night and onwards, let them burn it with fire.
יט ולא יבשלו אותו במים ואל יאכלוהו חי, כי אם צלוי היטב באש וקלוי באש:
19 And they shall not cook it with water, nor shall they eat it raw, but roast on the fire: they shall eat it with diligence,
כ ראשו על קרבו ועל כרעיו יצלו באש, ועצם לא ישברו בו:
20 its head with the inwards thereof and its feet they shall roast with fire, and not break any bone thereof; for of the children of Israel no bone shall be crushed.
כא לכן צוה ה' את בני ישראל לעשות את הפסח במועדו ולבלתי שבור עצם בו, כי חג הוא ויום מועד ולא יעברו ממנו יום או חודש כי אם במועדו ייעשה:
21 For this reason the Lord commanded the children of Israel to observe the passover on the day of its fixed time, and they shall not break a bone thereof; for it is a festival day, and a day commanded, and there may be no passing over from day to day, and month to month, but on the day of its festival let it be observed.
כב ואתה צו את בני ישראל ויעשו את הפסח בימיו בכל שנה ושנה אחת בשנה ליום המועד, להיות לזיכרון לרצון לפני ה' ולא יהיה בהם נגף בשנה ההיא להמית ולהכות אותם:
22 And do thou command the children of Israel to observe the passover throughout their days, every year, once a year on the day of its fixed time, and it will come for a memorial well pleasing before the Lord, and no plague will come upon them to slay or to smite
כג והיה כאשר יחוגו את הפסח במועדו ככל אשר צֻווה, יישמרו מאכול אותו מחוץ למקדש אדונָי:
23 in that year in which they celebrate the passover in its season in every respect according to His command.<br>And they shall not eat it outside the sanctuary of the Lord,
כד לפני כל עם עדת ישראל ישמרו אותו במועדו, כל הבאים ביומו לאכול אותו במקדש אלוהיכם לפני ה' מבן עשרים שנה ומעלה:
24 but before the sanctuary of the Lord, and all the people of the congregation of Israel shall celebrate it in its appointed season.<br>And every man who hath come upon its day shall eat it in the sanctuary of your God before the Lord from twenty years old and upward;
כה כי כן כתוב ונועד, לאכול אותו בבית מקדש ה':
25 for thus is it written and ordained that they should eat it in the sanctuary of the Lord.
כו והיה כי יבואו בני ישראל אל ארץ נחלתם ארץ כנען, ויטו את אהל ה' בקרב הארץ בתוך אחד שבטיו עד בנות מקדש ה' בארץ:
26 And when the children of Israel come into the land which they are to possess, into the land of Canaan, and set up the tabernacle of the Lord in the midst of the land in one of their tribes until the sanctuary of the Lord hath been built in the land,
כז ובאו ועשו את חג הפסח בתוך אוהל ה', ושחטו אותו לפני ה' מימים ימימה
27 let them come and celebrate the passover in the midst of the tabernacle of the Lord, and let them slay it before the Lord from year to year.
כח ובימי היות בית בנוי לשם ה' בארץ נחלתם, ילכו שמה ושחטו את הפסח בערב בבוא השמש בחלק השלישי ליום:
28 And in the days when the house hath been built in the name of the Lord in the land of their inheritance, they shall go there and slay the passover in the evening, at sunset, at the third part of the day.
כט ונתנו את הדם על משקוף המזבח ואת החלב ישימו על האש אשר על המזבח, ואת בשרו קלוי באש יאכלו בחצר המקדש לשם ה':
29 And they will offer its blood on the threshold of the altar, and shall place its fat on the fire which is upon the altar, and they shall eat its flesh roasted with fire in the court of the house which hath been sanctified in the name of the Lord.
ל ולא יעשו את הפסח בעריהם ובכל מקום, בלתי לפני אוהל ה' או לפני ביתו אשר שמו ישכון בקרבו, ולא יחטאו לה':
30 And they may not celebrate the passover in their cities, nor in any place save before the tabernacle of the Lord, or before His house where His name hath dwelt; and they will not go astray from the Lord.
לא ואתה משה צו את בני ישראל ושמרו את חוקת הפסח כאשר צֻווית, ושמרתם אותו מדי שנה בשנה ביומו:
31 And do thou, Moses, command the children of Israel to observe the ordinances of the passover, as it was commanded unto thee; declare thou unto them every year and the day of its days,
לב ואת חג המצות ישמרו לאכול מצות שבעת ימים, למען ישמרו מועדו להקריב לו קרבן מדי יום ביומו בשבעת ימי פסח ההם לפני ה' על מזבח אלהיכם:
32 and the festival of unleavened bread, that they should eat unleavened bread seven days, (and) that they should observe its festival, and that they bring an oblation every day during those seven days of joy before the Lord on the altar of your God.
לג כי החג הזה חגותם בחפזון בצאתכם ממצרים עד עברכם את הים אל מדבר שור, כי על שפת הים חגותם אותו עד תומו:
33 For ye celebrated this festival with haste when ye went forth from Egypt till ye entered into the wilderness of Shur; for on the shore of the sea ye completed it.
