Chapter 7

א ובשבוע השביעי בשנה הראשונה בו ביובל הזה נטע נוח גפנים על ההר אשר נחה התיבה עליו, ושמו לובָר, אחד הרי אררט:
1 And in the seventh week in the first year thereof, in this jubilee, Noah planted vines on the mountain on which the ark had rested, named Lûbâr, one of the Ararat Mountains,
ב ותעשינה פרי בשנה הרביעית:
2 and they produced fruit in the fourth year,
ג ויצור את פריו ויבצור אותו בשנה ההיא בחודש השביעי, ויעש ממנו יין וישימהו בכלי וישמרהו עד השנה החמישית עד היום הראשון הוא ראש החודש הראשון:
3 and he guarded their fruit, and gathered it in this year in the seventh month.<br>And he made wine therefrom and put it into a vessel, and kept it until the fifth year, until the first day, on the new moon of the first month.
ד ויעל אשה לה' פר בן בקר ואיל אחד ושבעה כבשים בני שנה ושעיר עזים אחד, לכפר בעדו ובעד בניו:
4 And he celebrated with joy the day of this feast, and he made a burnt sacrifice unto the Lord, one young ox and one ram, and seven sheep, each a year old, and a kid of the goats, that he might make atonement thereby for himself and his sons.
ה ויעש בראשון את השעיר ויבא את דמו על המזבח אשר עשה, ואת כל חלבו שם על המזבח אשר עשה שם את האשה:
5 And he prepared the kid first, and placed some of its blood on the flesh that was on the altar which he had made, and all the fat he laid on the altar where he made the burnt sacrifice,
ו ומן הפר ומן האיל ומן הכבשים שם את כל בשרם על המזבח, וישם עליו את כל מנחותיהם בלולות בשמן:
6 and the ox and the ram and the sheep, and he laid all their flesh upon the altar.<br>And he placed all their offerings mingled with oil upon it,
ז אחרי כן זרק בראשונה יין באש על המזבח, וישם לבונה על המזבח ויעל ריח ניחוח לרצון לעלות לפני ה' אלהיו:
7 and afterwards he sprinkled wine on the fire which he had previously made on the altar, and he placed incense on the altar and caused a sweet savour to ascend acceptable before the Lord his God.
ח וישמח, וישת מן היין הזה הוא ובניו בשמחה רבה:
8 And he rejoiced and drank of this wine, he and his children with joy.
ט ויהי ערב ויבוא אל אהלה וישכב שיכור ויישן ויתגל בשנתו בתוך אהלה:
9 And it was evening, and he went into his tent, and being drunken he lay down and slept, and was uncovered in his tent as he slept.
י וירא חם את אביו נוח ערום, ויצא ויגד לשני אחיו בחוץ:
10 And Ham saw Noah his father naked, and went forth and told his two brethren without.
יא ויקח שֵם את שמלתו ויקום הוא ויפת ויסירו את שמלתו מעל שכמם הפנים אחורנית, ויכסו את ערוות אביהם והם פונים אחורנית:
11 And Shem took his garment and arose, he and Japheth, and they placed the garment on their shoulders and went backward and covered the shame of their father, and their faces were backward.
יב ויקץ נוח משנתו וידע את כל אשר עשה לו בנו הקטן:
12 And Noah awoke from his sleep and knew all that his younger son
יג ויקלל את בנו ויאמר ארור כנען, עבד עובד יהיה לאחיו:
13 had done unto him, and he cursed his son and said: "Cursed be Canaan; an enslaved servant shall he be unto his brethren."
יד ויברך את שם, ברוך ה' אלהי שם ויהי כנען עבד לו:
14 And he blessed Shem, and said: "Blessed be the Lord God of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant.
טו ויפת אלהים ליפת וישכון אלהים באהלי שם, ויהי כנען עבד לו:
15 God shall enlarge Japheth, and God shall dwell in the dwelling of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant."
טז וידע חם כי קילל אביו את בנו, וייפרד מאת אביו הוא ובניו עמו בכוש ומצרים ופוט וכנען:
16 And Ham knew that his father had cursed his younger son, and he was displeased that he had cursed his son, and he parted from his father, he and his sons with him, Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan.
יז ויבן לו עיר, ויקרא שמה כשם אשתו נחלת עמק:
17 And he built for himself a city and called its name after the name of his wife Nê’êlâtamâ’ûk.
יח וירא יפת ויקנא באחיו, ויבן עיר גם הוא ויקרא לה כשם אשתו אדותן ילק:
18 And Japheth saw it, and became envious of his brother, and he too built for himself a city, and he called its name after the name of his wife ’Adâtanêsês.
יט ושֵם שכן על פני אביו נוח, ויבן עיר אצל אביו על יד ההר ויקרא שמה גם הוא כשם אשתו צדקת לבב:
19 And Shem dwelt with his father Noah, and he built a city close to his father on the mountain, and he too called its name after the name of his wife Sêdêqêtêlĕbâb.
כ שלוש הערים האלה קרובים אל ההר לובר, צדקת לבב לפני ההר קדמה ונחלת עמק נגבה, אדותן ילק ימה:
20 And behold these three cities are near Mount Lûbâr; Sêdêqêtêlĕbâb fronting the mountain on its east; and Na’êlâtamâ’ûk on the south; ’Adatanêsês towards the west.
כא ואלה בני שם עילם אשור ארפכשד והוא נולד שנתים אחר המבול וארם ולוד:
21 And these are the sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad--this (son) was born two years after the flood--and Lud, and Aram.
כב בני יפת גומר ומגוג ומדי יוון תולד משך ותירס אלה בני נוח:
22 The sons of Japheth: Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan, Tubal and Meshech and Tiras: these are the sons of Noah.
כג ביובל השמונה ועשרים הואיל נוח [ללמד] את בני בניו, את כל החוקות והמצוות אשר ידע ואת המשפט:
23 And in the twenty-eighth jubilee Noah began to enjoin upon his sons' sons the ordinances and commandments, and all the judgments that he knew,
כד ויעד בבניו לעשות צדק ולכסות בשר ערוותם, ולברך את בוראם ולכבד את האב ואת האם, לאהוב איש את רעהו ולשמור את נפשותיהם מכל זנונים וטומאה ומכל עוולה:
24 and he exhorted his sons to observe righteousness, and to cover the shame of their flesh, and to bless their Creator, and honour father and mother, and love their neighbour, and guard their souls from fornication and uncleanness and all iniquity.
כה כי בגלל שלושת הדברים האלה בא המבול על הארץ:
25 For owing to these three things came the flood upon the earth, namely,
כו בגלל הזנונים אשר זנו השומרים למורת חוקי משפטם אחרי בנות האדם, ולקחו להם נשים מכל אשר בחרו, המה עשו ראשית הטומאה:
26 owing to the fornication wherein the Watchers against the law of their ordinances went a whoring after the daughters of men, and took themselves wives of all which they chose: and they made the beginning of uncleanness.
כז ובניהם הנפילים וכל אחיהם חלק לבם, ויאכל איש את רעהו, הענק המית את הנפיל והנפיל המית את העליון והעליון המית את בני האדם ואדם את רעהו:
27 And they begat sons the Nâphîlîm, and they were all unlike, and they devoured one another: and the Giants slew the Nâphîl, and the Nâphîl slew the Eljô, and the Eljô mankind, and one man another.
כח וכל איש היה [נכון] לעשות אוון ולשפוך דם נקי, ותמלא הארץ חמס:
28 And every one sold himself to work iniquity and to shed much blood, and the earth was filled with iniquity.
כט ובדרכיהם הלכו כל חית הארץ ועוף השמים, וכל השורץ והרומש על הארץ, ודם רב נשפך על הארץ:
29 And after this they sinned against the beasts and birds, and all that moveth and walketh on the earth: and much blood was shed on the earth,
ל וכל יצר מחשבות האנשים היה אפס ורע כל היום:
30 and every imagination and desire of men imagined vanity and evil continually.
לא וימח ה' את כל היקום מעל פני האדמה, מפני רוע מעלליהם ומפני הדם אשר שפכו על הארץ, השמיד את כל היקום:
31 And the Lord destroyed everything from off the face of the earth; because of the wickedness of their deeds, and because of the blood which they had shed in the midst of the earth He destroyed everything.
לב ואני ואתם בני וכל אשר בא אתנו אל התיבה נשארנו:
32 "And we were left, I and you, my sons, and everything that entered with us into the ark,
לג והנה אנכי רואה כיום את מעשיכם כי לא תתהלכו בצדקה, כי אם החילותם ללכת בדרך שחת:
33 and behold I see your works before me that ye do not walk in righteousness; for in the path of destruction ye have begun to walk,
לד ולהיפרד איש מרעהו ולקנא איש בעמיתו, וכי לא תשבו בשלום בני איש את אחיו:
34 and ye are parting one from another, and are envious one of another, and (so it cometh) that ye are not in harmony, my sons, each with his brother.
לה כי אראה איך הרוחות הרעות החלו להוליככם תועה, אתכם ואת בניכם:
35 For I see, and behold the demons have begun (their) seductions against you and against your children,
לו ועתה אדאג לכם פן אחרי מותי תשפכו דם אדם על הארץ, ותיתמו גם אתם מעל פני האדמה:
36 and now I fear on your behalf, that after my death ye will shed the blood of men upon the earth, and that ye, too, will be destroyed from the face of the earth.
לז כי כל שופך דם אדם וכל אוכל דם כל בשר ישמד מקרב כל מן הארץ:
37 For whoso sheddeth man's blood, and whoso eateth the blood of any flesh, will all be destroyed from the earth.
לח ולא ישאר איש האוכל דם והשופך דם על הארץ, לא נין ולא נכד לו תחת השמים:
38 And there will not be left any man that eateth blood. Or that sheddeth the blood of man on the earth, Nor will there be left to him any seed or descendants living under heaven;
לט כי אם בגיא צלמות ילכו למו, ואל בור שחת ירדו:
39 For into Sheol will they go, And into the place of condemnation will they descend.
מ בחשכת התהום יטבעו כולם במגפה רעה, איש איש [מכם] אשר לא יקריב מכל דם לכפר בעדכם:
40 And into the darkness of the deep will they all be removed by a violent death.<br>There shall be no blood seen upon you of all
מא וזה הדבר מדי תשחטו חיה או בהמה או כל אשר יעופף על הארץ, עשו לכם פעולת צדקה בדם בכל מקום אשר ישפך על הארץ:
41 the blood there shall be all the days in which ye have killed any beasts or cattle or whatever flieth upon the earth, and work ye a good work to your souls by covering that which hath been shed on the face of the earth.
מב ואיש מכם לא יאכל [בשר] בדם, אל תתנו לאכול דם לפניכם:
42 And ye shall not be like him who eateth with blood, but guard yourselves that none may eat blood before you:
מג כסו את הדם בעפר כי כן צוויתי, אעידהו לכם ולבניכם ולכל בשר:
43 cover the blood, for thus have I been commanded to testify to you and your children, together with all flesh.
מד ואל תאכלו הנפש עם הבשר פן לא ידרש דמכם לנפשכם מכל בשר השופך אותו על הארץ:
44 And suffer not the soul to be eaten with the flesh, that your blood, which is your life, may not be required at the hand of any flesh that sheddeth (it) on the earth.
מה כי לא יכופר לארץ את הדם אשר נשפך עליה, כי אם בדם שופכו תטהר הארץ לכל דורותיה:
45 For the earth will not be clean from the blood which hath been shed upon it; for (only) through the blood of him that shed it will the earth be purified throughout all its generations.
מו ועתה בני שמעו בקולי עשו משפט וצדקה, למען תינטעו בצדקה על כל פני האדמה ותהילתכם תנשא לפני אלוהי אשר הציל אותי ממי המבול:
46 And now, my children, hearken: work judgment and righteousness that ye may be planted in righteousness over the face of the whole earth, and your glory lifted up before my God, who saved me from the waters of the flood.
מז והנה תלכו ובניתם לכם ערים ונטעתם בהן כל עץ צומח על הארץ:
47 And behold, ye will go and build for yourselves cities, and plant in them all the plants that are upon the earth, and moreover all fruit-bearing trees.
מח ולא יאסוף איש שלוש שנים מפרי כל עץ מאכל לאכלו, ... ובשנה הרביעית יהיה פריו קודש הילולים:
48 For three years the fruit of everything that is eaten will not be gathered: and in the fourth year its fruit will be accounted holy [and they will offer the first-fruits],
מט וראשית כל פרי האדמה [...] יובא לפני אל עליון קונה שמים וארץ וכל היקום:
49 acceptable before the Most High God, who created heaven and earth and all things.
נ למען יובא עם החלב ראשית פרי יין ושמן על מזבח ה' לרצונו:
50 Let them offer in abundance the first of the wine and oil (as) first-fruits on the altar of the Lord, who receiveth it,
נא והנותר יאכלו משרתי בית ה' לפני המזבח לרצונו:
51 and what is left let the servants of the house of the Lord eat before the altar which receiveth (it).
נב ובשנה השביעית תעשו שמיטה, כי תשמטוה בצדק ובמישרים ותהיו צדיקים וכל מטעיכם יבורכו:
52 And in the fifth year make ye the release so that ye release it in righteousness and uprightness, and ye shall be righteous, and all that you plant will prosper.
נג כי כן ציווה חנוך אבי אביכם מתושלח את בנו ומתושלח ציווהו לבנו למך, ולמך ציווה לי את כל אשר ציוו לו אבותיו:
53 For thus did Enoch, the father of your father command Methuselah, his son, and Methuselah his son Lamech, and Lamech commanded me all the things which his fathers commanded him.
נד וגם אנכי מצוהו לכם בני, כאשר ציווה חנוך את בנו ביובלו הראשון:
54 And I also will give you commandment, my sons, as Enoch commanded his son in the first jubilees:
נה בהיותו עוד בארץ החיים השביעי בדורותיו, ציווה והעיד את הדבר לבנו ולבני בניו עד יום מותו:
55 whilst still living, the seventh in his generation, he commanded and testified to his son and to his sons' sons until the day of his death.
